DELHI - FULL DAY SIGHSEEING

After breakfast, proceed for a guided sightseeing (The full day will be for approx. 6 hours) of the visit of Old Delhi covering Red Fort (driven past) and Jama Masjid (50 minutes). Located in the centre of the old city, this congregational mosque was built by Shahjahan in 1656. Suggest you climb the south minaret of Jama Masjid to get a panoramic view of old Delhi. Take a rickshaw ride (approx. 30 minutes) through the crowded streets of the Chandni Chowk and walk in the narrow by-lanes of this old yet active city of Delhi!

Enjoy lunch at Lutyens Delhi restaurant.

Later continue to New Delhi sightseeing with a drive past the Parliament Buildings, India Gate, diplomatic quarter, and visit the Humayun’s Tomb (over an hour’s time at the monument), a UNESCO world heritage site and the first example of the monumental scale that characterised subsequent Mughal imperial architecture including the Taj Mahal.

Post sightseeing tour of Delhi returns back to hotel and free for independent activities. You can also enjoy our complimentary Concierge activity of visiting the Sikh Gurdwara in Delhi.

DELHI - AGRA  TRAIN TRAVEL + SIGHTSEING

After an early light buffet breakfast like tea, coffee and snacks, met by our representative and transferred to New Delhi railway station to board the train, Gatimaan Express .
(leaving Delhi at 0810 AM and arriving in Agra at 09:50 AM)

On arrival, you will be assisted by a representative and driven to the hotel. The check-in time is 1400 hours when the room will be available to you. Therefore, after dropping off the luggage at the hotel, freshen up using the lobby facilities, you will be taken to see the Agra Fort with our professional tour guide (Approx 2 hours) visit Agra Fort where the Mughal ruler Shahjahan spent years of confinement at the hands of his son Aurangzeb, looking wistfully at the Taj Mahal.

After lunch at the hotel, proceed with the tour of the city with the visit to the momentous Taj Mahal (Briefing for half an hour by the guide and after that clients can spend an hour at the monument). (Taj Mahal remains closed on Fridays) which is amazing to look at dusk. It was built by Shahjahan in 1560 in loving memory of his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains.

AGRA - JAIPUR  EN ROUTE FATEHPUR SIKRI

After breakfast, you will be driven to Jaipur (approximately 6 hours) en route visiting Fatehpur Sikri - the political capital of India's Mughal Empire under Akbar's reign from 1571 till 1585 and regarded as the crowning glory of his architectural legacy.

Lunch at Laxmi Vilas Palace, Bharatpur.

Arrive in Jaipur and arrive at your Hotel. Upon arrival, you will be met by Inspired Journeys representative and will be assisted for check in at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure & free for independent activities.

JAIPUR HOLISTIC TOUR OF AMER FORT

After leisurely breakfast, proceed for the holistic tour (Approx 2 ½ hours tour) of Amer, one of the fascinating forts of India. Arrive at the Amer hill and as you drive through the narrow winding road through the village of Amer, you arrive at a small clearing. Here we stop to visit the 16th Century Stepwell, Panna Meena Ki Kund. (We suggest not to skip this as it’s different than the step well of Chand Baori, in design and patterns. Chand Baori step well is almost 3 times the size of Panna Meena Ki Kund). Recently this Stepwell was featured in one of the Scenes of The Hollywood movie, The Second-Best Marigold Hotel. After this, we visit the 17th century Jagat Shiromani Temple. This temple was built between 1599-1608 AD by the Queen Kanakwati wife of King Man Singh. The temple is a superb example of Rajput architecture, and the best part is that foreigners can enter the sanctum here which is not possible at other noteworthy temples. We can arrange to get a special blessing from the High Priest here!!! Making the visit noteworthy. After the visit, we drive onwards and reach Amer Fort Palace and begin with our sightseeing of the place.

Afternoon, drive past the Hawa Mahal. This five-storied building along the main street of the old city is in pink splendour with a semi-octagonal and delicate honey combed sandstone windows. The monument was originally conceived with the aim of enabling ladies of the royal household to watch the everyday life and royal processions of the city.

Visit the City Palace whose several courtyards and gardens provide a wonderful contrast to its many palatial structures including Mubarak Mahal, Chandra Mahal, Badal Mahal and the Sri Govind Dev temple. The huge silver water vessels displayed at the Diwan-e-Khas recorded in the Guinness Book as the largest in the world are a must see. then visit the Jantar Mantar- the Observatory that incorporates multiple buildings of unique geometrical forms, each with a specialized function for astronomical measurement.

Late evening, in case interested explore the colourful bazaars of Jaipur amongst the brightly dressed locals.
