The festival opening spectacle follows, featuring a parade of the nation’s best athletes and artists in traditional attire, accompanied by music and colorful performances.

Day 3
Cycle across the great steppe to Khenty mountain range
Distance: 37km
After breakfast, transfer to the outskirts of Ulaanbaatar. Once the bikes are assigned, we begin cycling across vast open grasslands interspersed with gentle hills. The riding surface is predominantly packed soil, making it easy for biking. On each cycling day, however, you can expect short rocky sections, grassy trails, and stream crossings—always a fun experience. A support team of guides, drivers, and cooks will accompany you, providing guidance, meals, and camping facilities. While riding, you will see many domestic animals: horses, cattle, sheep, and goats. Mongolia has 50–60 million livestock, which form the backbone of the rural economy. And of course, you will see horses, which hold an important place in Mongolian culture.
After lunch, we visit the giant statue of Chinggis Khan on horseback, the Guinness Record holder for the world’s tallest equestrian statue. Here, you can take your photo with the Man of Millennia, Chinggis Khan. Other optional activities include riding a camel, photographing with a Golden Eagle on your arm, or having your name written in traditional Mongolian calligraphy. Enjoy panoramic views of the vast steppe and rolling hills from the observation deck before continuing to a comfortable holiday camp comprised of traditional felt-covered tents known as “ger.”
Overnight: Traditional Mongolian tents (Ger)

Day 4
Cycle in the Khenty mountain range
Distance: 35km
We cycle along smooth gravel tracks and grassy roads to Bayangol Valley. Soon after departure, we climb a grassy track to an elevated pass, from where you can enjoy breathtaking views over lush pastures used by local herders in winter. Although not far from the capital, Ulaanbaatar, this is true wilderness, carpeted with wildflowers.
This evening, we camp at the edge of the Siberian mountains. Tonight, enjoy a comfortable stay in a glamping camp with spacious two-person tents where you can stand freely, sturdy folding beds with sleeping bags, a large shower tent with a hot shower, a camping toilet, and a dining tent for meals and social time. And, of course, there will be a cook providing tasty meals, along with a snack stop offering a plentiful supply of fresh fruits, nuts, and drinks.

Cycle Across the Great Steppe to Khenty Mountain Range

Encounters with herders provide a wonderful opportunity to learn about local culture and lifeways, as well as a great chance for photography.
Tonight, we spend another night glamping at a spectacular campsite with lush meadows and woods in the background.
