From the capital city of Windhoek to the surreal sand dunes of Sossusvlei, this immersive journey offers close encounters with wildlife, cultural experiences with the San people, and nights under some of the world’s clearest skies. You’ll traverse ancient deserts, discover fossilized trees in Dead Vlei, watch flamingos at Walvis Bay, and explore the mystical rock formations of Spitzkoppe.
This trip blends luxury and adventure, featuring unique lodges nestled in remote beauty, gourmet meals, and enriching activities ranging from 4x4 dune safaris to stargazing in the desert. Day 1: Arrival in Windhoek
- Activities: Meet & Greet at Windhoek International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in Windhoek (approximately 45-minute drive).
- Meals: Dinner at the hotel, which offers a variety of dining options including a sushi/seafood restaurant and a steak specialty restaurant.
Day 2: Windhoek to Spitzkoppe
- Activities: After breakfast, embark on a Windhoek City Tour, visiting the Independence Museum and Craft Market Center. Depart for Spitzkoppe Lodge (approximately 3.5-hour drive). Enjoy sunset views of the unique rock formations.
- Meals: Breakfast at the hotel, lunch at a local restaurant en route, and dinner at the lodge.
Day 3: Spitzkoppe to Walvis Bay
- Activities: Morning exploration of additional rock formations at Spitzkoppe. Drive to the central Skeleton Coast to view a shipwreck, then continue to Walvis Bay (approximately 3-hour drive). Take a walk at the lagoon to observe flamingos and other aquatic birds.
- Meals: Breakfast at the lodge, lunch at a local restaurant en route, and dinner at the Walvis Bay Waterfront.
Day 4: Walvis Bay Exploration
- Activities: After breakfast, depart at 08:15 to the waterfront for a boat cruise to the seal colonies of Pelican Point Peninsula. Enjoy sightings of seals, dolphins, and various seabirds. Fresh oysters, sparkling wine, light lunch, and drinks are served onboard. In the afternoon, join a 4x4 desert and dune drive to the Sandwich Harbour Wetlands, passing colorful salt lakes and observing unique flora and fauna. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
- Meals: Breakfast at the hotel, light lunch and drinks during the cruise, and dinner in Swakopmund.
Day 5: Walvis Bay to Sossusvlei
- Activities: Drive through the Namib Desert, crossing the Kuiseb Pass and Kuiseb Canyons, and celebrate crossing the Tropic of Capricorn. Arrive at the lodge in Sossusvlei (approximately 5-hour drive). Enjoy a sundowner view over the vast desert landscape.
- Meals: Breakfast at the hotel, lunch en route, and dinner at the lodge.
Day 6: Sossusvlei and NamibRand Nature Reserve
- Activities: Early morning drive to Dead Vlei, including a 1.1 km hike to view the dead tree silhouettes and Big Daddy, the highest sand dune on earth. Continue to Sossusvlei and enjoy a picnic breakfast amidst the dunes. Visit Dune 45 and Sesriem Canyon. After lunch at a local venue, return to the lodge, check out, and drive to &Beyond Sossusvlei Lodge.

Day 7: NamibRand Nature Reserve
- Activities: After breakfast, drive to Sonop Lodge (approximately 3-hour drive). Enjoy lunch at the lodge, followed by an afternoon activity of your choice offered by the lodge.
- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the lodge.
Day 8: NamibRand Nature Reserve
- Activities: Engage in various activities offered by the lodge, such as nature drives, walking trails, stargazing, electric fat bike rides, and horse riding. Enjoy the clear night skies for stargazing.
- Meals: All meals included at the lodge.
Day 9: NamibRand to Quiver Tree Forest
- Activities: After breakfast, drive to the Quiver Tree Forest (approximately 5-hour drive). Lunch will be served en route. Explore the Quiver Trees and the Giants Playground rock formations. After dinner at the camp, engage in night photography of the Quiver Trees.
- Meals: Breakfast at the lodge, lunch en route, and dinner at the camp.
Day 10: Quiver Tree Forest to Kalahari Namibia
- Activities: Drive to Kalahari Desert (approximately 3 hour drive). Lunch will be served en route. Afternoon Sunset Drive. Safari drive through the dunes with game viewing a cheetah activity and a sundowner with drinks & snacks on a dune.
- Meals: Breakfast at the lodge, lunch en route, and dinner at the camp.
Day 11: Kalahari Namibia
- Activities: Breakfast at the lodge. Bushman Cultural Experience in the morning. Lunch at the lodge. Afternoon horseback safari in the red dunes of the Kalahari Desert.
- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the lodge.
Day 12: Departure from Windhoek
- Activities: After breakfast, depart for Windhoek (approximately 3.5-hour drive) to catch your departure flight.
- Meals: Breakfast included.
